Case Kids Earn Some Dough

Posted in Exhilarating EZRI Excerpts, JAVI's Highlights by jpcase01 on March 2, 2012

I heard a Sojourn sermon that said as soon as kids start asking about money and show interest, they’re ready to start learning how to manage it.  Ezri’s probably been interested for about a year now and recently Javi has shown an interest in buying things.  Mel and I put our heads together and made a rock pile, then we came up with the idea of a weekly task list that rewards the kids for good behaviors.  The basic idea is to review the day before bed and check the activities they’ve done, then award a HK dollar (about 13 cents) for each check at the end of the week.  We’re making a point not to use this as a tool for behavior modification but as a way for them to earn some money.  For managing money, we plan to get three jars, one for giving, one for saving and one for spending.  We haven’t decided on how to divide up the money yet but we’ll figure it out.
